Industrial pipe welding with expertise

Porin Teollisuusputki carries out pipeline welding work, ranging from gas pipelines to repair welding. Thanks to careful self-monitoring, our welding work is top-notch and the welders are the best professionals in Finland. An international welding engineer (IWE) is responsible for the quality and coordination of welding at Porin Teollisuusputkisto, together with an international welding inspector (IWI) and an international welding specialist (IWS). For demanding applications, such as repair welding, we also offer welding-related expert services.

Special steels

Welding special steels requires special skills from the welder. All welders at Porin Teollisuusputki are qualified in accordance with SFS-EN ISO 9606-1 for the welding of pressure equipment pipelines. In addition, additional training is regularly organised for welders. Welders are qualified for filler metal groups FM1-3/4 and FM5, so their qualification covers all steel materials used in pipelines.

The welding instructions of Porin Teollisuusputki are based on procedure tests, in which the suitability of the welding parameters has been tested with destructive and non-destructive methods. In this way, we can ensure a successful outcome even for demanding materials. PTP has conducted almost 40 different procedure tests for heat-resistant steels, various duplex steels and titanium, for example.

Repair welding

The aim of repair welding is usually to repair damage as quickly as possible. In most cases, it is also worth looking into the causes that led to the damage. After an assessment of the damage, the best repair method can be decided and appropriate welding instructions drawn up on the basis of it. Reviewing and documenting the final result is part of all PTP projects, including repair welding.
