Fortum ash washing plant

Fortum’s ash washing plant, located in Mäntyluoto, Pori, processes ash from power plants. Various environmental toxins are removed from the ash and the resulting product is disposed of in a landfill, for example.
Porin Teollisuusputkisto Oy installed various pipelines in the ash washing plant. The pipelines were made of pure glass fibre, composite pipes (PE100/glass fibre), PE pipes and acid-resistant steel. The pipelines contained various types of water, chemicals and compressed air. In addition, PTP installed various pipe gates and steel components during the project and assisted with modifications during commissioning.
The work was carried out on a tight schedule, and pipelines were manufactured both as prefabricated units in the workshop and on site. The length of the pipeline was approximately 3,000 metres. PTP also installed and manufactured a 2,500-metre seawater transfer pipeline.
